Erin Dexter Buikema, Veterinarian

Dr. Dexter grew up on a farm in New England with many horses, goats, chickens, dogs and cats. She has worked as a small animal and equine veterinarian since graduation. She lives in Goochland with her husband Matt, their two daughters Sydney and Abigail, Boston Terriers Barnaby and Buoy, and two kitties, Minny and Stewart.

Dr. Morris is originally from Seattle, Washington. She first moved to Virginia for undergraduate study at Randolph-Macon Woman’s College where she earned a Bachelors of Science degree in biology in 2003. She returned back to the West Coast and earned her Veterinary degree at Washington State University in 2008. She completed an internship in small animal emergency medicine, and for that past ten years she has worked as an emergency and critical care veterinarian in the Richmond area. In her spare time she enjoys traveling with her husband, Scott, and two daughters, Madeline and Eleanor. She always has a herd of pets around the house, currently including an Australian Shepherd named Muddy and two cats, Isabelle and Maizy Jane.

She is excited about practicing mobile veterinary medicine at Capital Home Veterinary Care and forming relationship with pets and their owners in the comfort of their home. She loves all aspect of veterinary medicine but has special interest in nutrition and injury rehabilitation.

Morgan has had a passion for helping animals for as long as she can remember! She has been in the veterinary field for over 10 years, with a short break in between to spend some time with her 3 children! Now that her oldest two have started school, she is so happy to be back in the veterinary field again, especially with such an amazing group as Capital Home Veterinary Care! When not working, Morgan loves spending time outdoors with her husband, kids and her crazy beagle, Darla!

Kaela joined our Capital Home Veterinary team in early 2022. She has since enrolled at Purdue University for a degree in Veterinary Technology. She shares her home with five crazy chihuahuas; Flicka, Sweet Pea, Sunshine, Tank and Tyson. She has always had a passion for helping animals, from walking dogs to training horses.

Sabrina Soloman, Veterinary Field Assistant

Sabrina joined our team in September of 2022 with the goal of becoming a Veterinary Technician. She has an empathetic and healing heart towards all beings. Her compassionate confidence helps the animals know they can follow her to the van and their trust will not be broken. Her idea of success in veterinary medicine is empowering clients through education and support. She has recently completed the Class IV Medical Laser Certification and enjoys the implementation in the practice.

Ella grew up around Richmond and has always had a love of animals from a young age and wanted to work in the veterinary field as long as she can remember. She has an Associates Degree in Medical Assisting and worked in human medicine for several years before switching to veterinary medicine in 2021 and has enjoyed it ever since.

Vicki has been in the veterinary field since 2019. Her love for animals came at a very young age when she would visit her aunt’s animal clinic every summer. Ever since then her love for them has only grown and is what led her to where she is now. Vicki also has a fur family of her own with her two kitty girls Stormy and Kaylee and her Doggo Russel. She strives to treat all of her patients as if they were her own and she can’t wait to come visit you and your fur family!

Growing up in the Finger Lakes region of New York state, Courtney was always bringing home an injured or lost creature. As an adult, in North Carolina, she volunteered for and eventually worked at the local animal shelter.

While she has not always worked with animals, she has always worked in a client facing role and is excited that she can meld her passions for animals and customer service in her position here at Capital Home Vet!

In her free time, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, and camping with her family and just about any activity that involves the outdoors! Her family includes her long-time partner, her three children, a dog, a cat, a snake, a couple of hermit crabs, and a mouse(!!).

Makayla has loved animals her entire life and always dreamed of working in the veterinary field. She plans to attend Wilson college in the fall of 2025 majoring in veterinary nursing and equine studies. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her Brittany Spaniel, Sandy, or out riding her mustang, Diego!
