At-Home Wellness Care and Comprehensive Physical Examinations
We recommend all healthy cats and dogs have a regular wellness appointment and comprehensive physical examination at least once annually. This annual, in-home veterinary appointment helps our veterinarians establish a baseline for your pet’s health. By establishing care with Capital Home Veterinary Care, our veterinarian will detect any physical changes and/or signs of illness promptly, ensuring early treatment before a medical problem has a chance to develop into a more serious condition.
What to Expect During Your Pet's At-Home Wellness Exam
Our veterinarian will arrive on site with a complete mobile clinic. During wellness exams, our veterinarian completes comprehensive physical examinations of pets. This includes a visual examination of your pet’s eyes, ears, teeth, gums, skin and coat, in addition to checking their vital signs, weight and body – from whiskers to tail – for any signs of illness or abnormality.
A veterinarian might also discuss additional wellness and preventative care topics with you, such as:
- Vaccinations
- Spaying and neutering
- Behavior counseling
- Nutritional counseling
- Activity and exercise
- Pet dental care
- Geriatric care
Depending on your pet’s age, condition and breed, our veterinarian might also discuss including additional screening (with lab tests) for diseases which your pet might be at risk of developing. This will ensure any developing medical problems are diagnosed early, so that they can be more effectively treated while also protecting your pet from enduring any pain or discomfort associated with leaving a disease untreated.

Capital Home Veterinary Care offers house-calls and at-home appointments for cats and dogs of all ages. Wellness care is essential to the health, happiness and longevity of every animal. Good wellness care, however, is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Effective wellness plans should use different proactive approaches for different pets. To provide our patients the very best, our veterinarians tailor care and wellness plans to meet the needs of each individual pet’s age, breed and lifestyle.
